Box of kittens dumped in Hechtel-Eksel: 'Disgusting that this happens'

A box filled with kittens and their mother was discovered abandoned along Sint-Bernardusstraat in Hechtel-Eksel, Belgium. The animals were found inside an enclosed box, placed on a towel. A vigilant local resident contacted the Cattaleya animal shelter in Leopoldsburg, which promptly came to rescue the felines.

Help was quickly summoned. A neighbor managed to notify the Cattaleya animal shelter, and they arrived at the scene. "We actually don't have space for this, as we have a kitten stop," said Nathalia Heeren of Cattaleya. "But you can't say no to this."

The animal shelter immediately began searching for foster families willing to take in the kittens. "Fortunately, we found many people willing to take in the kittens, so we are very grateful for that."
