Box Office: Gaja’s World 3 Overtakes The Odyssey and Spider-Man to Claim Top Spot

Gaja’s World 3 has taken the top spot on Slovenia’s cinema chart, displacing The Odyssey after the epic film dominated most weekends over the past two months.

The result came on the final weekend before the start of the school year. The Slovenian production, directed by Peter Bratuša and led by Uma Štader, attracted enough viewers to move ahead of The Odyssey, which still recorded a strong cumulative performance of nearly 125,000 admissions.

The Odyssey remains the most-watched film currently in cinemas since Ohcet left the chart. Spider-Man: A New Day follows it in both weekend and total attendance, with almost 83,000 Slovenian viewers so far.

Animated films also continued to draw audiences. The new Paw Patrol film collected more than 33,500 viewers in a month, while Minions and Monsters approached 55,500 after slightly more than two months.

New releases shaped the weekend’s ranking, with all four entering the top 10. Alongside Gaja’s World 3, Ridley Scott’s post-apocalyptic science-fiction thriller Stars Over Silence reached seventh place. Tony, an American biographical film about chef Anthony Bourdain’s early years, and the provocative psychological thriller I Want Sex completed the lower end of the top 10.

The sharpest fall came from The End of Oak Street, which dropped from seventh to 13th place as its audience fell 73 percent. Spa Weekend lost 70 percent of its weekend viewers but slipped only one position, from fourth to fifth. Total cinema attendance stood at 27,912, about 3,000 below the previous weekend and 3,000 above the weekend before that.
