Boy Dies After Electric Shock Near Bishkek Irrigation Ditches

A nine-year-old boy in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, has tragically died after receiving an electric shock while playing outdoors. The incident, which occurred on July 26, involved several children playing near irrigation ditches in the 6th microdistrict along Aitiev Street.

According to the boy's mother, who shared the news on social media, the children felt an electric current while near the water. While some children managed to react quickly and warn each other, the nine-year-old boy was unable to escape and was thrown back by the force of the shock. He was rushed to the intensive care unit of the City Children's Emergency Hospital in critical condition.

Doctors worked to stabilize the boy, connecting him to a ventilator as his condition was assessed as extremely severe. The Internal Affairs Directorate of the Oktyabrsky District of Bishkek has initiated a preliminary investigation into the circumstances surrounding the child's electrocution.
