Boyé fires Alavés to record start with 5-2 win over Osasuna

Lucas Boyé powered Alavés to a 5-2 victory over Osasuna, scoring three times in a match that gave the club its best league start in history.

Alavés took 10 points from their first 12 available. The hosts created the greater attacking threat for long periods and led 2-0 at halftime, after Boyé struck from outside the area and Mariano Díaz doubled the advantage following an Osasuna mistake.

Osasuna had threatened early through Ante Budimir, but Antonio Sivera denied the striker in the opening stages. After falling behind, Osasuna lost momentum before the break, although Budimir quickly revived the visitors after halftime with a precise header between the two central defenders.

Alavés responded almost immediately. In the 51st minute, Boyé fired from 30 meters and found the top corner, producing his second goal of the match. Budimir later scored again from a penalty after Abde Rebbach fouled him, keeping Osasuna within reach with half an hour remaining.

The match stayed open, with both teams attacking in a game of constant momentum swings. Mariano dedicated his goal to injured teammate Mikel Rodríguez, who watched from the stands, while Pablo Ibáñez completed Alavés’ scoring after Ángel Pérez supplied the assist.
