Brøndby Sign Lyngby Captain Casper “Dani” Winther

Brøndby are strengthening their squad with Lyngby captain Casper “Dani” Winther, who has signed a four-year deal with the Superliga club. Both clubs announced the transfer on their websites Wednesday.

The 23-year-old midfielder has spent more than 10 years at Lyngby. He arrived from one of the club’s local partner teams, came through its academy and worked his way into the first team before taking the captain’s armband.

Lyngby sporting director Nicas Kjeldsen said the club was saying goodbye with sadness. “Dani is in many ways the embodiment of the history we work every day to create at Lyngby Boldklub,” Kjeldsen said.

“He came here from one of our local partner clubs, received his football education at the academy and, through hard work, developed into captain and one of the biggest profiles on our first team. It is a journey that both Dani and we as a club can be very proud of,” he added.
