Brabus Unveils 1000 HP Aston Martin Vanquish Volante-Based Bodo Cabriolet

Brabus, long associated with extreme modifications of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has unveiled a project that significantly deviates from its usual offerings. The Bodo Cabriolet, based on the Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, showcases the German tuner's ambition to create exclusive, low-volume hypercars.

The car features a completely new carbon fiber body, constructed using pre-preg technology common in motorsport and aviation. This extensive use of lightweight material helps keep the dry weight around 1,774 kg, despite the car's substantial dimensions of approximately 5.06 meters in length and 2.03 meters in width.

Underneath the bespoke bodywork lies a heavily reworked 5.2-liter V12 twin-turbo engine. Brabus has extracted a formidable 1000 horsepower and approximately 1200 Nm of torque from the unit, delivered exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Notably, this power output is achieved without any hybrid assistance, relying solely on the V12's combustion. The performance figures are staggering: 0 to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds, 300 km/h in 23.9 seconds, and an electronically limited top speed of 359 km/h.

Stylistically, the Bodo Cabriolet makes a bold statement with its 22-inch Monoblock Z-GT wheels, aggressive carbon fiber front end, and active aerodynamics, including an electronically deployed rear wing. The car debuted at The Quail during Monterey Car Week as the open-top counterpart to the previously introduced Bodo Hyper-GT Coupe. This project signifies Brabus's evolution from a tuner to a manufacturer of exclusive, high-performance automobiles.
