Brasília seeks political pacts amid fear of scandals

Brasília is turning to unusual political agreements as fear of scandals influences relations among the country’s institutions.

The arrangements fall outside the constitutional design of autonomous harmony between the branches of government, according to the text.

One example was an agreement involving the presidents of Brazil, the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. Supreme Federal Court Vice President Alexandre de Moraes mediated that deal.
