Brazilian striker Renan Oliveira signs with FK Kauno Žalgiris

FK Kauno Žalgiris has secured the signing of Brazilian forward Renan Oliveira, who previously played in Lithuania's A Lyga. The 29-year-old attacker has agreed to a contract that will keep him with the club until the end of 2027.

Oliveira joins Kauno Žalgiris from FK Sarajevo, the most decorated club in Bosnia and Herzegovina. During his tenure there, which spanned over three years with a brief interruption, he scored 28 goals in 82 appearances. He was also loaned to Colombian club Bogotá's Inter for six months while under contract with Sarajevo.

His career in Europe began in Slovakia with Zlate Moravce, followed by a season with Malta's San Gwann. He also played for Ukrainian clubs PFC Lviv and Kolos, and had a six-month loan spell at Portugal's Gil Vicente. In 2022, Oliveira played for Vilnius Žalgiris, where he was the league's top scorer, netting 17 goals in 29 A Lyga matches. That season, he scored a total of 23 goals across all competitions, including three in cup matches and one each in the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League.
