BREAKING: Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan ‘Ogogo’ is dead

Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, widely recognized by his stage name Ogogo, has passed away. The news of his death was confirmed by multiple sources within the Nigerian film industry, including Seun Oloketuyi, founder of Best of Nollywood, who announced the actor's demise on social media.

Ogogo's daughter, Kaira Taiwo, was visibly distressed, expressing disbelief over her father's death during an Instagram live session. Nigerian actor and filmmaker Saheed Balogun also shared his grief, posting a tribute on Instagram mourning the loss of his "brother" Taiwo Hassan Ogogo and wishing him peace.

The actor's death follows a recent public appeal by his daughters, Kaira and Lima Taiwo, for medical assistance. They revealed that their father had been battling stage-four cancer. According to Kaira, doctors had determined that chemotherapy was no longer a viable treatment option due to the advanced stage of his condition.

The family had been exploring alternative treatment options, including specialized medical procedures and traditional remedies, in their efforts to manage his illness. Ogogo was a highly respected figure in the Nigerian film industry, particularly celebrated for his significant contributions to Yoruba-language films.
