Brimob Intensifies Gas Station Security for Smooth Fuel Distribution in North Sumatra

The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) unit of the North Sumatra Regional Police is enhancing security at various gas stations (SPBU) across the region. This intensified presence aims to guarantee the safe and smooth distribution of fuel to the public, especially amid increased mobility.

Commander of the North Sumatra Brimob Unit, Kombes Pol Rendra Salipu, stated that the police's presence demonstrates their commitment to ensuring the security of public services, with a primary focus on fuel distribution. Security operations are being conducted in Medan, Tebing Tinggi, and South Tapanuli districts by personnel from Batalyon A, B, and C Pelopor as a preventive measure.

Beyond security patrols, Brimob personnel are also managing traffic flow and monitoring the overall security situation. They are coordinating directly with gas station staff to receive real-time updates. Kombes Pol Rendra Salipu explained that these actions are anticipatory, designed to prevent potential friction between drivers, instances of extortion, or other criminal acts that could disrupt the public's experience while refueling.

These activities will be sustained across various areas to maintain community stability.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut is reinforcing fuel distribution in North Sumatra to meet public demand. The company is conducting intensive monitoring of stock and distribution at all Fuel Terminals and gas stations. To normalize distribution, the Fuel Terminal Medan Group is operating 24 hours, and Pertamina has increased its tanker capacity by 35 units, supported by personnel from the Indonesian Army's Bekang unit and the Belawan Naval Base.
