British Week in Paraguay 2026 to feature Harry Potter, Oasis tributes

Paraguay is set to host the 10th annual British Week, a cultural festival organized by the British Embassy in Asunción. Running from August 15 to August 23, 2026, the event promises a diverse agenda for all ages, encompassing music, literature, gastronomy, education, and innovation.

This milestone edition aims to strengthen the cultural and knowledge exchange between the United Kingdom and Paraguay. The festival will feature concerts celebrating iconic British music, including tributes to bands like Oasis and The Beatles. A special focus will be placed on the 25th anniversary of the first Harry Potter film's release, alongside activities related to the Chevening scholarship program.

Attendees can immerse themselves in British culinary traditions with special offerings at various venues. Café Urbano will serve a traditional Full English Breakfast and Afternoon Tea, while Sacramento Brewing Co. will feature a menu of British beers. Casa Rica will host an exhibition dedicated to Sir David Attenborough, alongside displays of British cars, motorcycles, and products.

Adding a unique interactive element, the festival introduces the "Fish and Chips Passport" or "Fishaport." Participants who collect stamps through this initiative will be entered into a special prize draw at the end of the week.
