A horrific domestic violence case is unfolding in Kaunas, Lithuania, where a man is accused of a brutal axe attack on a woman in front of her young child. The incident, which occurred in June of the previous year, has sent shockwaves through the community, with court testimonies revealing the extreme violence involved.

The accused, identified as V. Kšivickas, allegedly attacked the 50-year-old woman with an axe during a dispute in her apartment on Baltijos Street. The victim was rushed to intensive care with severe injuries, and initial medical prognoses were grim. The investigation, initially classified as causing physical pain to a family member, was reclassified to serious bodily harm.

The mother was being beaten with an axe, her hair was being chopped with it, and this happened in the kitchen, in the hallway, and in the child's room, where there was the most blood.

Crucial testimony comes from the victim's nine-year-old son, who witnessed the entire ordeal. According to the child's account, the assault took place in various rooms of the apartment, including the kitchen, hallway, and his own bedroom, which had the most blood. The mother reportedly collapsed multiple times, choking on blood and crying for help, but received no response from neighbors.

Although the execution took place on the ninth floor and in the middle of the day, no matter how much she shouted, the woman received no help – there was absolutely no reaction.

The child pleaded with the attacker to stop, even calling him "dad," but to no avail. The attacker, reportedly intoxicated and having taken a tablet, had also hidden the phones, preventing the child from calling for help. This was reportedly the third time the man had assaulted the mother, with this attack being particularly savage. The victim's injuries are so severe that she faces the risk of complete blindness.
