Brutal Futsal Assault in Brazil: Player Kicks Opponent's Head Twice, Receives Five-Year Ban

A Brazilian futsal player has been suspended for five years and barred from all official competitions following a brutal on-field assault. The player, identified as Lara from the As Resenhas team, twice kicked an opponent in the head while the victim lay on the ground during a match.

The aggressive act occurred during the second half of a game between RDJ Esport Feminino and As Resenhas, played in Eusébio, a suburb of Fortaleza. The match, which was the opening game of the Eusébio Women's Futsal Municipal Championship, was suspended immediately after the violent confrontation.

Reports indicate that Lara committed a clear foul from behind on Júlia, a player for RDJ Esport Feminino, near the halfway line. After the referee awarded the foul, Lara, instead of disengaging, turned and violently kicked Júlia in the head not once, but twice. Another player who attempted to intervene was reportedly punched.

Júlia was seen on the ground in distress before being taken to the Eusébio Emergency Unit. She has since been discharged from the hospital and is reported to be in good health. The RDJ Esport president confirmed Júlia's recovery. The incident was captured on the match's broadcast, which also showed a fight that subsequently broke out between players from both teams.
