BSN Lilawangsa Run Attracts 2,000 Runners, Funds Raised for Places of Worship

The BSN Lilawangsa Run 2026 in Lhokseumawe, Aceh, attracted around 2,000 participants from across Indonesia and abroad, combining a sporting event with a charitable cause.

This year's run adopted a "Charity Run" concept, where each participant who successfully crossed the finish line contributed to a donation pool. Bank BSN Director Utama Alex Sofjan Noor stated that the goal was to provide social benefits beyond the athletic activity. "Every participant who successfully completes the BSN Lilawangsa Run 2026 has taken part in providing better and more comfortable places of worship for shared use," Alex said in a press release.

For each finisher, a donation of Rp81,000 was converted. This amount, chosen symbolically to mark the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, aims to foster a spirit of unity and mutual cooperation. "The spirit of independence is not only about remembering past struggles but also about how we continue to provide benefits for others. Through this activity, we invite the public to celebrate independence in a healthy, productive, and caring way," Alex added.

Brigjen TNI Ali Imran, Commander of Korem 011/Lilawangsa, praised the high enthusiasm for the event, which is part of the 81st Indonesian Independence Day celebrations. He expressed hope that the run becomes an annual agenda, symbolizing collaboration and goodwill among government, businesses, communities, and the public. The event successfully linked athletic participation with support for enhancing religious facilities in Lhokseumawe.
