K-pop sensation BTS dominated the 2026 American Music Awards, held in Las Vegas, by clinching three major awards. The group's impressive haul included the night's most prestigious award, Artist of the Year, along with Best Male K-pop Artist and Song of the Summer for their hit track "Swim."

This marks a significant achievement for BTS, as it's their second time winning Artist of the Year, having previously made history as the first Asian act to receive the award in 2021. Their win in the Best Male K-pop Artist category further solidified their global dominance, beating out formidable international artists such as Bad Bunny, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift.

The group's latest single, "Swim," released in March 2026, was a fan favorite, earning them the Song of the Summer award. This category's winner was determined entirely by fan votes on social media platforms, highlighting the immense power of the BTS fanbase, known as ARMY.

In their acceptance speech, BTS leader RM expressed profound gratitude to ARMY, stating, "First and foremost, warm greetings to ARMY. Thank you so much for all the love you've given to 'SWIM.' When we made this, we were under a lot of pressure, and trying to figure out what kind of music best suits us right now. The only thing we believed in at that time was that we had to keep challenging ourselves and keep moving forward."
