Bucheon multi-unit building package thief arrested; suspect is a resident

Police have apprehended a man in his 30s suspected of stealing packages from residents of a multi-unit residential building in Bucheon. The suspect, identified only by the initial 'K', faces charges of general theft.

Authorities allege that since March, 'K' has been stealing packages delivered to residents in a multi-unit building in the Ojeong District of Bucheon. The number of households reporting package theft has exceeded ten. The building began occupancy in March, leading to frequent package deliveries.

Following reports from residents, police analyzed closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the building to identify 'K'. An official stated that police are investigating whether 'K' has committed any further thefts beyond those reported by residents. The total amount of stolen goods and the exact value are yet to be determined pending the completion of the investigation.
