Burgan handed a tough draw for the Handball Club World Championship

Asian champion Burgan has been dealt a challenging draw for the 19th IHF Men's Handball Club World Championship, set to take place in Egypt in 2026. The Kuwaiti club will face formidable opponents in Group B, including Egyptian host Al Ahly and the highly regarded German team Füchse Berlin.

The tournament draw places Burgan in a tough group, with the fourth spot to be determined by a preliminary-round match between Hungary's Veszprém and Sydney University of Australia. Burgan's participation marks a significant milestone, as it is the club's first appearance at the global club tournament. This historic achievement follows their victory in the 28th Asian Men's Handball Club Championship last month, where they defeated Saudi Arabia's Al-Khaleej in the final to secure their first continental title.
