Burglar breaks into Sri Lankan office, eats yogurt and drinks coffee before fleeing

A bizarre break-in at the Bandarawela Divisional Secretariat office has left authorities puzzled after a burglar entered through the roof, rummaged through files, and helped themselves to refreshments before escaping. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning, despite the office being secured and a night guard on duty.

According to police, the suspect scaled a nearby embankment to reach the office's roof. They then entered the building through an unsecured window, proceeding to disturb all the files within the office. The intruder then made their way to the office canteen, where they consumed yogurt and prepared coffee before fleeing the scene. Discarded yogurt cups were found on the floor, providing a clue to their actions.

Despite the presence of valuable laptops within the office, the burglar did not steal any of them. This has led police to suspect that the individual may be a drug addict attempting to steal money or other valuables. The investigation is ongoing, with senior police officials overseeing the efforts to apprehend the suspect.
