Burglaries reported widely across Iceland's capital region

Police in Iceland's capital region responded to numerous burglary reports across various districts on a single day. Three specific incidents were noted in the police log, each occurring within the jurisdiction of a different police station.

The burglaries were reported in areas covered by police district 1 (including Austurbær, Miðborg, Vesturbær, and Seltjarnarnes), district 2 (Garðabær and Hafnarfjörður), and district 4 (Grafarvog, Mosfellsbær, and Árbær). All reported break-ins are currently under police investigation.

These incidents add to a recent string of burglaries, including a break-in at a business in central Reykjavík reported the previous day. Law enforcement officials have stated that these appear to be random acts rather than part of an organized criminal operation.

In separate traffic enforcement actions, police stopped a driver traveling at 119 km/h in an 80 km/h zone and another driver for not wearing a seatbelt. A minor traffic accident was also reported, involving a driver found to be operating without a license.
