Burj Khalifa lights up in Indian tricolour to mark 80th Independence Day

Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa was adorned with the vibrant colors of the Indian flag on Saturday night, marking India's 80th Independence Day. The spectacular light display attracted significant crowds of Indian expatriates, residents, and visitors, all gathered to witness the tribute.

The world's tallest building shone in saffron, white, and green, symbolizing India's national flag. This visual celebration underscored the enduring ties between India and the United Arab Emirates, as the UAE joined Indians globally in commemorating this milestone national occasion.

Spectators gathered around the landmark, cheering and raising patriotic slogans in a festive atmosphere. The Indian Consulate in Dubai shared on X that the Burj Khalifa's illumination was "a spectacular tribute to India’s journey, pride and spirit" and "a celebration of the enduring India–UAE friendship and the bonds that bring our two nations closer."

Ambassador of India to the UAE, Dr. Deepak Mittal, also extended his greetings, further emphasizing the strong diplomatic and cultural connections between the two countries. The event served as a powerful symbol of shared celebration and mutual respect.
