Bus route changes on Bulevar España affect seven lines heading downtown

The Intendencia de Montevideo (IMM) has implemented modifications to public transport stops along Bulevar España, with changes taking effect from July 23. These adjustments aim to streamline bus routes and manage traffic flow in the city.

The most significant alteration involves the closure of the bus stop located at the intersection of Bulevar España and Acevedo Diaz, in the direction of the city center. In its place, a new stop has been established within the block of the Faculty of Architecture, Design, and Urbanism of the University of the Republic (Udelar), situated on Bulevar España and Cassinoni.

These changes will impact several bus lines, specifically those traveling towards the center of Montevideo. The affected routes include lines 104, 128, 145, 49, 182, and 407, as well as the D1 line. Additionally, the stop at Bulevar España, between Bulevar Artigas and Prudencio Vazquez y Vega, will now only serve lines 427 and 181.

Beyond the bus route adjustments, Montevideo is experiencing several other street closures due to ongoing public works. These include partial closures in the Capurro neighborhood for sanitation work, and in Tres Cruces for UTE (Uruguayan state power company) related projects. Further sanitation work is also causing closures in the Manga neighborhood on Carlos A. López and Anacahuita streets.
