Byun Jin-jae Wins First Pro Title After Record Seven-Hole Playoff

Byun Jin-jae has captured his first professional golf title, emerging victorious at the KPGA 2nd David Golf Tour after an intense seven-hole playoff. The tournament, held at the Gunsan Country Club in North Jeolla Province, saw Byun finish the two-round event at 8-under par 136. He entered the playoff alongside Jeong Jae-hyun and Jeong Se-yoon.

After Jeong Se-yoon was eliminated on the fourth playoff hole with a triple bogey, Byun and Jeong Jae-hyun continued their duel. Byun ultimately clinched the championship on the seventh playoff hole by making par, while Jeong Jae-hyun recorded a double bogey.

This victory sets a new record for the longest playoff in the 2nd Tour's history, surpassing the previous record of six holes set in 2014. The win also comes with a 20 million won prize and 20,000 ranking points. Byun expressed his relief and excitement, stating, "I had won as an amateur, but I had never won as a professional. I learned a lot through this tournament, and I think it will be an important turning point for me."
