Calls for justice grow in Radravu case

The family of Sakiasi Radravu, a 32-year-old who died recently, is demanding justice and clarity surrounding the investigation into his death. They are publicly disputing police accounts and are seeking more definitive answers about the circumstances leading to his demise.

Radravu's aunt, Elizabeth Kabuyawa, stated that the family reported their concerns to authorities soon after his death. She emphasized their full cooperation with the police, providing statements and information they maintain is accurate. Kabuyawa expressed skepticism about the postmortem results, noting that they reportedly changed after her sister, a nurse, reviewed them.

The family rejects claims that their reports were inaccurate and is awaiting further updates on the investigation. Radravu's mother, Cema Volau, shared that communication from authorities has been minimal, fueling their ongoing concerns about the manner of his death. She noted that an allegation of assault was not officially reported to the police prior to his passing.

Fiji's Police Commissioner, Rusiate Tudravu, has addressed the situation, rejecting any suggestions of a cover-up. He assured the public that the Fiji Police Force understands the concerns and maintains that standard procedures have been adhered to throughout the investigation, which he confirmed is still active and proceeding under normal processes. Despite these assurances, the Radravu family remains determined to pursue justice and ensure all critical questions are thoroughly answered.
