Cameroon crowned WAFCON champions after defeating Malawi in final

Cameroon secured their first-ever Women's Africa Cup of Nations title, triumphing over Malawi 3-0 in the final match held in Rabat, Morocco. This historic win marks a significant achievement for the national team, which had reached the final three times before without securing a championship.

Following a memorable tournament, Cameroon's dominance extended to the individual awards. Monique Ngock was recognized as the Player of the Tournament, while Temwa Chawinga claimed the Top Scorer award. Goalkeeper Michaely Bihina also received accolades for her performance.

Marie Ngah Manga was instrumental in Cameroon's victory, scoring two goals in the final. Her decisive contributions earned her the Player of the Final award. Algeria received the Fair Play Award, highlighting sportsmanship throughout the competition.

Malawi's journey to the final was also noteworthy, marking their first appearance in a WAFCON final. Despite falling short at the last hurdle, their impressive campaign earned them the runners-up position.
