Cameroon's University of Bertoua Launches First Excellence Fair

The University of Bertoua in Cameroon has officially launched the inaugural edition of its Scientific, Sporting, and Cultural Excellence Fair, known as FESSCUBe 2026. The event, which commenced on Monday, July 21, 2026, is scheduled to run for five days and aims to highlight the diverse talents and achievements of its students.

The opening ceremony was presided over by the university's rector, Professor Dieudonné Emmanuel Pegnyemb, and attended by the governor of the East Region, Grégoire Mvongo, along with numerous administrative, traditional, and academic authorities. Following the official speeches, the fair kicked off with a football match, where the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences secured a 2-0 victory against the Higher Institute of Agriculture, Wood, Water, and Environment.

FESSCUBe 2026 is designed to showcase and promote excellence across academic, sporting, and cultural domains within the university. Organizers aspire for the fair to establish itself as a significant and enduring event within Cameroon's national university calendar, fostering a culture of achievement and healthy competition among students.
