Camila Fernández denies plans to appear on Volume 2 tribute album for her grandfather

Camila Fernández has denied that she will appear on the second volume of the album honoring her grandfather, Mexican singer Vicente Fernández.

Vicente Fernández Jr., who is producing the tribute, had said the grandchildren were expected to participate. Camila addressed the issue in an interview with “Venga la alegría,” saying she had not worked on the album despite his earlier comments.

“I am not on that album, but I wish them the best, and I hope you listen to mine,” she said, referring to her own record, “Una raya más al tigre.” She did not explain why she was absent from “Vicente Fernández: Tributo al Rey con banda, Volumen 2.”

The album brings together artists including Ana Bárbara, Banda MS, Edwin Luna and La Trakalosa de Monterrey, Luis Ángel “El Flaco,” Julio Preciado and Víctor García. The production did not use artificial intelligence to create the duets with Vicente Fernández’s previously recorded vocals.

The first single, “Cruz de olvido,” is already available. It combines Vicente Fernández’s voice with that of Lenín Ramírez in the 3:45-minute song written by Juan Záizar.
