Camille Cottin: “I have a family life and children at school, so the United States, yes, but not at any price”

Six years after Dix pour cent ended on television, the show is returning in a new form: a film directed by Émilie Noblet and available on Netflix. For Camille Cottin, who became widely known as the forceful and free-spirited talent agent Andréa, and Fanny Herrero, the showrunner who created the character, the project reunites a partnership that has shaped both their careers.

The series launched in 2015 and quickly attracted a broad audience by bringing a parade of stars to play exaggerated versions of themselves. Its lasting appeal came from the fictional agency’s core characters, who dealt with actors’ egos and contracts while navigating their own romantic, family and professional problems.

Dix pour cent ran for four successful seasons, received an Emmy Award in 2021 and inspired around ten adaptations abroad. Cottin’s performance as Andréa, a central figure at the fictional ASK agency, made her a prominent name from the first season and opened the way into the wider film world. Herrero’s writing gave Andréa her distinctive combination of authority, humor and independence.

The two women first met before Cottin filmed Connasse. Herrero saw her perform on stage in L’Entreprise, where she played a particularly hard-edged, confrontational boss. Herrero said the performance immediately put Cottin at the top of the list for Andréa, whose character was still being developed. Since then, their collaboration has continued beyond the series. Herrero co-wrote Cottin’s speeches when she presented ceremonies at the Cannes Film Festival or chaired the César Awards.
