Camilo, Wisin, Chino Pacas, Calle 24, Jon Z and Ela Taubert lead the latest Latin music releases

Camilo’s El árbol, a pop song about memory and the experiences people live through for the last time without knowing it, leads a week of new Latin music releases. The Colombian singer premiered the track at the Premios Juventud ceremony in Marbella, Spain, and will include it as the first preview of his 13-song album Para cuando sean mayores, dedicated to his daughters, Índigo and Amaranto.

Puerto Rican artist Wisin released La universidad del perreo, a 12-song album in which he takes on the role of “Professor Sandunga.” A campaign drew more than two million people to enroll on a website before revealing that the project was actually a record. The album features genre pioneers including Ivy Queen, Jowell & Randy, Don Chezina and Trébol Clan, as well as Mexican artist El Bogueto.

At 19, Mexican singer Chino Pacas released his third album, Que sigan llegando las pacas V2. He describes it as the most experimental project of his career. Its 13 tracks draw on action cinema and tell a story of revenge and ambition, blending Mexican music with hip-hop and hyperpop. Fuerza Regida, Calle 24 and FLVCKKA appear on the album. Billboard included Chino Pacas this year on its 21 Under 21 list.

Calle 24 released Te perdí with Eddy, continuing a story that began with Suiza and continued with Berlín. Those earlier destinations represented a plan, while the new song treats them as the memory of a life that never happened. The 22-year-old singer from Ciudad Cuauhtémoc became known through Qué onda, recorded with Fuerza Regida and Chino Pacas.

Puerto Rican rapper Jon Z released Omillaje with CONEP and TUTU. Produced by Yondoe, the trap song uses deep bass and dry percussion. It is the second preview of Loco, the final installment in a trilogy that began with Real and continued with Humilde in March. Colombian singer Johan Sanabria released his version of Volver, volver, the song written by Fernando Z. Maldonado and made famous by Vicente Fernández. Spanish artist Lucho RK moved away from his recent reggaeton with Lola, a contemporary bolero about heartbreak and bad choices. Ela Taubert also ranks among the week’s new releases.
