Canada-based Nigerian cleric apologizes to husband after celebrating mother-in-law's death online

Prophetess Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, a Nigeria-born cleric based in Canada, has issued a public video apology to her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue. The apology comes after she faced severe public backlash for a social media post celebrating the death of her late mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue.

In the video, Ezinne directly addressed her spouse, expressing remorse for her actions. She specifically apologized for posting about his mother online, asking for forgiveness.

The controversy erupted when Ezinne shared a funeral banner of her late mother-in-law on Facebook, accompanied by a vitriolic message. She referred to the deceased as a "wicked witch" and declared she would "rest in pieces in hell." Ezinne further claimed to be a "weapon fashioned against all the witches and wizards and all the evil people in the world," asserting that they would "all go down in my hands."

This incident is not the first time the couple has garnered attention. Previously, a viral video showed Ezinne making her husband swear an oath of fidelity on camera as a condition for his relocation to Canada. He agreed, stating, "I confess, and I promise that if I come to Canada and cheat on you, let me die in the name of Jesus." Ezinne later accused him on Facebook of violating this oath.
