Car owner arrested in Argentina femicide case; claims she was manipulated

Soledad Andreani, the owner of the Ford Ka used by Claudio Barrelier to transport the body of 14-year-old Agostina Vega, has been arrested by prosecutor Raúl Garzón. Andreani, who is the ex-partner of the primary suspect in the femicide case, has publicly maintained her innocence, asserting she had no knowledge of Vega's death or Barrelier's alleged actions.

Andreani had previously spoken to LN+ after it was revealed that Barrelier had used her vehicle to move Vega's remains from a residence in barrio Cofico to an open field in Ampliación Ferreyra, where they were discovered a week later. She explained that Barrelier had repeatedly asked to borrow her car and that she eventually lent it to him for approximately one hour.

According to Andreani, Barrelier claimed he needed the car to deliver clothing to an uncle who had recently undergone surgery following an accident. "He called me and asked for the car. She further mentioned knowing that Barrelier had prior arrests, though she was unaware of the reasons. "I never imagined this. In the months we were together, I exposed my children and my family," she said. Andreani emphasized her full cooperation with the justice system since the beginning of the investigation, stating, "I have nothing to hide. I want that family to have peace. He has to tell the truth." She recalled seeing Barrelier looking sad the day she lent him the car, but attributed it to their recent separation, not anticipating it was related to the crime.
