Caracas Metro operates normally after heavy rains caused temporary station closure

The Caracas Metro announced on Sunday that its entire system is operating normally, despite intense rainfall on Saturday that had temporarily impacted the Mercado station on Line 3. The metro's cable car systems, however, will remain closed for scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance.

Yoel Amaya, president of the Caracas Metro, visited the Mercado station after it was flooded by the heavy rains. He confirmed that cleaning and repair work had begun to restore service. Initially, the station suspended commercial operations due to the water accumulation.

In the Caracas Metro, we reaffirm our commitment to the transportation of the people and urge them to pay attention to the announcements of the operational staff.

Amaya later reported that the Mercado station was fully accessible to users, and all other stations were operating at 100% capacity. The Institute of State Railways (IFE) also confirmed that its four stations are functioning normally. Both entities urged passengers to adhere to safety regulations and follow operational staff instructions.
