Carapeguá Music School Organizes Fundraising Marathon for Choir’s Trip to Argentina

Villa del Sol Music School in Carapeguá is preparing an artistic marathon to help send its youth choir to Argentina. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 5, beginning at 8 a.m. in front of Carapeguá’s Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

The fundraiser will include live artistic performances, traditional food sales and prize drawings. Families, residents, businesses and organizations from Carapeguá and surrounding areas have been invited to support the young performers as they prepare to carry the city’s artistic talent to an international stage.

The choir received a formal invitation to represent Paraguay at the LATE 2026 Latin American Choir Gathering, scheduled for Sept. 10-13 in Ezeiza, Argentina. The delegation will be led academically by Delia Matilde González and artistically by Carlos Quiñónez. The event is organized by the Buenos Aires provincial government’s Choirs and Orchestras Program.

During their stay, the young singers will also take part in a cultural gathering with Paraguayan community groups in Buenos Aires. They are expected to perform a serenade for people from Carapeguá and other Paraguayans living in Argentina.

LATE 2026 will cover accommodation and meals, but the delegation must pay for transportation and other itinerary expenses. The school has requested assistance from public institutions, including the Municipality of Carapeguá and the Government of Paraguarí, but González said it had not received a positive response. The marathon and other fundraising activities are intended to close that gap.
