Carapeguá's Symphonic Dream Honors the Children of Acosta Ñu

Carapeguá, Paraguay – The Villa del Sol Music School in the Paraguarí department is preparing a special gala concert, 'Building the Symphonic Dream,' dedicated to honoring the children who participated in the historic Battle of Acosta Ñu.

The concert, scheduled for August 16 at 10:00 AM in the Diocesan Curia hall, is free and open to the public. It is part of the school's ambitious 'Building the Symphonic Dream' project, designed to nurture local artistic talent and reinforce the cultural identity of the Paraguarí department.

Led by Director Matilde González, the Villa del Sol orchestra and choir will perform a repertoire blending Paraguayan folklore with classical pieces. The program aims to celebrate childhood joy while commemorating the memory of the young heroes of Acosta Ñu. Special guest performers include bandoneonist Bruno Cáceres Gauto, the local duo Los Hermanos Morán, and drummer Benjamín Miranda.

This artistic initiative is a collaborative effort supported by several organizations. The National Secretariat of Culture (SNC) is providing funding through the 2026 Culture Funds, granting 20 million Paraguayan guaraníes to the school for the acquisition of wind instruments and monitoring equipment. The Association of Redemptorist Missionary Sisters and the Villa del Sol Children's Village are also key pillars supporting the school's mission.
