Would it be at least reasonable to collect care costs from an estate after death when the estate contains assets to inherit? A Helsingin Sanomat reader argues that it would, especially if inheritance tax is abolished.

Pekka Makkonen writes that the issue is not about the interests of the deceased, but those of the heirs. In his view, heirs would lose only part of the property accumulated by the deceased, who would effectively pay care costs after death.
