Carlos Narváez Traded from Red Sox to Orioles in MLB Deal

The Boston Red Sox have traded Venezuelan catcher Carlos Narváez to the Baltimore Orioles as part of a multi-player deal. The transaction also saw prospects Anthony Eyanson, Kyson Witherspoon, and Enddy Azocar move to Baltimore. In exchange, Boston acquired catcher Adley Rutschman, a highly-regarded young player. The Red Sox are reportedly targeting immediate success with the acquisition of Rutschman, a proven major league catcher whose defensive skills are complemented by his offensive capabilities. This move comes as Boston, currently third in the AL East with a 60-51 record, occupies a wild card spot. The Orioles, with a 54-58 record, are trailing in the division and in the wild card race. Narváez played in 62 games for Boston this season, batting .187 with three home runs and ten RBIs. Rutschman, considered one of the top young talents in MLB, has hit .251 with eight homers and 47 RBIs in 67 games this season.
