Carrick Praises Rashford's Resurgence and Fitness Ahead of New Season

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick expressed his excitement over Marcus Rashford's impressive return to the club. Carrick noted that Rashford has arrived back with maximum fitness levels ahead of the new Premier League season. The English forward rejoined United after being out of former manager Ruben Amorim's plans since December 2024, and subsequently spending time on loan with Aston Villa and Barcelona. Rashford himself has previously stated his desire to focus solely on football, aiming to avoid becoming a daily topic of discussion, particularly after his situation drew attention following comments from former United player Gary Neville. Carrick also acknowledged that United is still working to strengthen the squad before the transfer window closes on September 1st. The club has already bolstered its midfield with the signings of Belgian player Youri Tielemans and Brazilian international Andrey Santos. Additionally, United has been linked with Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba.
