Caution: Prisma Recalls Eggs Suspected of Salmonella Contamination

Prisma is urging customers to return specific batches of "Kotimaista free-range eggs" due to a suspected salmonella risk. The eggs in question were packaged by Munax Oy. Consumers are advised to check the packaging for the "Munax Oy" label and the stamp on the eggs themselves.

The recall specifically affects "Kotimaista free-range eggs" in M size (10 eggs per pack) with EAN 6414893094918, and L size (15 eggs per pack) with EAN 6438460328329. All batch dates up to September 8, 2026, are included. The affected egg stamps are either 2FI164181 or 2FI164182.

Customers who purchased these products are asked to return them to their nearest Prisma customer service desk. A receipt is not required for a refund, and the full purchase price will be reimbursed. Prisma has apologized for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their understanding.

Salmonellosis is an infectious disease caused by Salmonella bacteria, often spread through contaminated food, particularly raw or undercooked eggs and poultry. Symptoms typically include diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, nausea, and vomiting, usually appearing 12-36 hours after infection. The illness generally lasts 4-7 days. To prevent infection, thorough hand washing, separating raw eggs and meat from cooked foods, and cooking egg dishes to at least 71°C are recommended.
