CDAA advises adventure tourists to prepare and stay safe in the outdoors

Oman's Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA), in collaboration with the National Risk Register, has released safety guidelines for adventure tourists and outdoor enthusiasts. The campaign, titled "What If?", aims to reduce risks associated with hiking and adventure tourism by emphasizing careful preparation and response protocols.

The CDAA strongly advises tourists to select licensed adventure tourism companies and certified guides to ensure well-organized and safe trips. It is crucial to adhere to approved routes, inform others about travel plans, and carry essential safety equipment, including reliable communication devices.

In the event of getting lost, the authority urges individuals to remain calm and stay in a safe location. Immediate contact with relevant authorities or their guide is recommended, and aimless wandering should be avoided. The CDAA stressed that proper planning is the foundation of safe adventures, ensuring everyone returns safely.

Licensed guides are highlighted for their expertise in risk assessment, navigation of approved trails, and effective emergency response. For emergencies, the public can call 9999 or use the "Nida" emergency application to quickly request assistance and share their location.

The CDAA reiterated that safety must be the top priority, encouraging adventure seekers to plan responsibly while enjoying Oman's natural landscapes. Following official safety guidelines is paramount for a secure and enjoyable experience.
