CDAA enhances safety measures at Dhofar tourist sites for Khareef season

The Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA) has significantly bolstered its safety measures across the Dhofar Governorate, deploying enhanced water rescue teams to beaches, springs, and major tourist attractions. This initiative is a key component of the CDAA's safety plan for the annual Dhofar Khareef season, a period that draws numerous visitors to Oman.

The teams operate under a comprehensive deployment plan covering areas with high visitor numbers to ensure faster response times and improve rescue effectiveness.

These water rescue teams are strategically stationed at high-traffic tourist locations. Their duties include continuous field monitoring, offering crucial preventive safety advice to visitors, and maintaining a state of readiness to respond swiftly to any emergencies. This proactive approach aims to bolster public safety and ensure rapid emergency response during one of the country's most popular tourism periods.

Captain Muslim bin Mohammed Al Amri, Assistant Officer at the Civil Defence and Ambulance Centre in Al Saada, detailed the comprehensive deployment plan. He explained that the teams focus on areas with high visitor numbers to optimize response times and improve the effectiveness of rescue operations. Beyond emergency responses, the teams are actively involved in public awareness campaigns, guiding beachgoers and spring visitors on safety protocols and monitoring site conditions to mitigate risks.

Captain Al Amri emphasized that the water rescue teams comprise trained Omani personnel equipped with specialized vehicles, advanced rescue equipment, and modern technology. The authority stressed its high level of readiness throughout the Khareef season and issued a strong appeal to visitors. They were urged to adhere strictly to safety instructions provided by authorities, cooperate fully with rescue personnel, and conscientiously avoid entering hazardous areas to safeguard themselves and their families.
