CEC shows what the ballot for the Kurultai elections will look like

Kazakhstan's Central Election Commission (CEC) has finalized the design and text for the ballot in the upcoming Kurultai elections, which will be held on August 23. CEC member Mikhail Bortnik confirmed that the ballot will be a double-sided A4 sheet, printed in light blue, and will include security features such as offset printing protection, specific colors, and fonts.

The front of the ballot will display the national emblem and its title, while the reverse side will list the seven political parties cleared for the election. The order of these parties was determined by a random draw on July 23. An "Against all" option will also be included, allowing voters to express dissent. To cast a vote, individuals must mark the square next to their chosen party or the "Against all" option.

As of August 3, the voter registers include 12,605,788 people. The Kurultai elections follow the implementation of a new constitution on July 1, 2026, which established a unicameral Parliament after the dissolution of the previous bicameral structure. The newly elected deputies will be responsible for choosing the Speaker and Deputy Speakers of Parliament, and the current government is expected to resign upon the Kurultai's formation.
