Kazakhstan President Arrives in Kyrgyzstan for Regional Summit

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, to attend an informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan. The gathering includes leaders from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan.

Tokayev was welcomed at the airport by Adylbek Kasymaliev, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan. This visit follows Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov's trip to Astana on July 29 for the opening ceremony of the Games of the Future 2026.

Earlier, on July 14, President Tokayev met with Abylkair Skakov, the newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Kyrgyz Republic. During that meeting, Tokayev stressed the significance of enhancing friendship, good-neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance with Kyrgyzstan. He outlined specific tasks for Ambassador Skakov to foster cooperation in transport and transit, energy, water resources, agriculture, and digitalization.
