Central Java Crowned Overall Champions at National Junior Archery Championship for Fifth Straight Year

Central Java's archery contingent triumphed at the MilkLife Archery Challenge National Junior Championship 2026, held at Supersoccer Arena in Kudus from July 22-29. This victory marks their fifth consecutive overall championship title since 2022, solidifying their dominance in the sport.

The team, comprising 80 athletes across U10, U13, U15, and U18 categories in Recurve, Compound, and National divisions, showcased remarkable consistency. They amassed a total of 26 gold, 22 silver, and 30 bronze medals. The win is attributed to the athletes' strong performance, honed through provincial championships and dedicated preparation.

Martin Sudarmono, the contingent's leader, praised the athletes' ability to adapt to challenging conditions, such as shifting winds, and make accurate decisions. He expressed hope that this success would serve as a foundation for future events like Popnas and the Senior National Championship. Jabr Rajaa’Challe, a newcomer to the national championship, contributed significantly by winning gold in the U-15 National Individual and Team events, attributing his success to dedicated practice and support from his family and coaches.

Abdul Razak, Deputy Chairman II for Development and Achievement at the National Archery Association (PB Perpani), emphasized the championship's role in fostering a sustainable archery development ecosystem. He noted the increasing quality of young archers and the competitive medal count as positive indicators for the sport's future, providing a platform for aspiring athletes to develop their skills and potentially represent the national team.
