Ceramics Triennial in Ljubljana Focuses on Sustainability with 91 Artists

Ljubljana is hosting the sixth Unicum 2026 international ceramics triennial, a significant event that has grown from a local idea into a major global showcase for contemporary ceramic art. The exhibition features 91 artists from 33 countries, highlighting the best of current artistic creation in ceramics.

This year's triennial places a strong emphasis on sustainability. The core theme encourages the use of environmentally friendly materials and techniques, reflecting a growing global concern for ecological practices within the art world. The works are on display until October 15.

The exhibition is being held at two key venues: the National Museum of Slovenia and Center Rog. Center Rog is a new partner for the project this year, marking an expansion of the triennial's reach and collaborative potential. The event traces its origins back twenty years to an idea conceived by Dragica Čadež Lapajne and Mateja Kos Zabel.
