Changan Showcases Deepal S05 SUV in Jakarta Malls, Offering First Look at Indonesia's First REEV SUV

Changan Indonesia is launching its Deepal S05 SUV with a series of pop-up exhibitions across three Jakarta malls, offering the public a first look at the vehicle before its official release and pre-booking period. The exhibitions, which began Tuesday, June 30, 2026, are part of the company's strategy to engage potential customers.

CEO of Changan Indonesia, Setiawan Surya, stated that the exhibitions aim to provide consumers with an up-close experience with the Deepal S05. "We want the public to see the product we are about to present in Indonesia more closely. With BEV and REEV variants, consumers have the freedom to choose the technology that best suits their mobility needs," Surya explained.

The Deepal S05 marks Changan's commitment to bringing electrified vehicles to Indonesia. It is the first model offered with two distinct powertrain options: a fully electric Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and a Range Extended Electric Vehicle (REEV). The REEV variant combines an electric motor with a gasoline engine that serves solely as a battery charger, enabling a total range exceeding 1,100 kilometers on a full charge and fuel tank.

The pop-up exhibitions are scheduled at One Satrio in Kuningan and Gafoy, Mal Kelapa Gading, until July 12, 2026. The Grand Indonesia exhibition will continue longer, until July 19, 2026. Pre-booking for the Deepal S05 opened on June 30. Additionally, a Deepal S05 unit with special livery for the Portugal National Football Team is on display, highlighting Changan Automobile's global partnership with the team. Visitors can also participate in an Instagram challenge for a chance to win official Portugal team merchandise.
