Changeable Weekend Weather Expected in Lithuania: When and Where Rain May Fall

Lithuania's weather forecast for the upcoming weekend indicates a period of changeable conditions, with chances of rain scattered across different regions. Short showers are expected in some locales, particularly along the eastern border and in western districts on Saturday.

Saturday is predicted to be summer-like warm, with temperatures climbing between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. The warmest areas will be the Alytus and Vilnius regions, while coastal and Samogitian areas will experience cooler temperatures. A moderate westerly to southwesterly wind will prevail.

Sunday's forecast suggests variable cloud cover overnight with a low chance of rain. Winds will ease and shift to southerly to southeasterly, ushering in warmer air. Temperatures are expected to remain mild, not dropping below 12-17 degrees Celsius overnight. During the day, the northwestern part of the country may see more clouds, while the southeast remains clearer. Isolated summer showers and thunderstorms are possible in the western regions during the afternoon. Winds will strengthen from the south-southeast, with gusts potentially reaching 15-17 m/s during thunderstorms. Daytime temperatures will be very warm, reaching 23-28 degrees Celsius, slightly cooler near the coast.

Looking ahead to Monday, a cold atmospheric front is expected to move across the country from the west. This will bring overcast skies with sunny spells. Overnight, short rains and thunderstorms are likely in many areas, with more frequent and intense rains, accompanied by lightning and thunder, during the day. Nighttime temperatures will remain warm at 13-18 degrees Celsius, while daytime temperatures will range from 19-24 degrees Celsius, potentially reaching 25-27 degrees Celsius in some eastern areas.
