Chelsea signs 19-year-old Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon

Chelsea has secured the signing of highly-rated Portuguese winger Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon, adding the 19-year-old talent to their squad on a long-term contract extending until 2034. The Premier League club confirmed the deal on Wednesday, hailing Quenda as one of Europe's brightest young prospects following his impressive breakthrough season with Sporting.

Quenda arrives at Stamford Bridge after a stellar campaign where he played a key role in Sporting Lisbon's Portuguese league and cup double. His outstanding performance earned him the Primeira Liga Young Player of the Season award in 2025. The winger has also represented Portugal at the Under-21 level, featuring in the Team of the Tournament at the 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.
