Chery Q arrives in East Java through GIIAS Surabaya, priced from Rp262.4 million

Chery is taking its compact electric Q beyond Indonesia’s Jabodetabek region, setting a starting price of Rp262.4 million on the road in Surabaya. The model made its East Java debut at GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show Surabaya 2026.

The exhibition, held at Grand City Convex from Aug. 26 to 30, featured Chery’s “Chery House” concept and five electrified vehicles: the Chery Q, J6T CSH, TIGGO 8 CSH, TIGGO 9 CSH and TIGGO Cross CSH. The lineup ranged from a compact city electric car to larger SUVs and adventure-oriented vehicles.

“Market growth and rising interest in electrified vehicles show that East Java consumers are increasingly open to new technology,” said Joshua Mikhay Kusuma, Chery Indonesia’s regional sales manager. He said the event allowed visitors to see, try and compare the models directly.

The Chery Q comes in two variants. The Q Pure costs Rp262.4 million on the road in Surabaya, while the Q Rizz costs Rp282.4 million. It uses a 42.7-kWh battery and has a claimed range of up to 400 kilometers under the NEDC method. Its rear-wheel-drive system is designed for agile handling, and DC fast charging can raise the battery from 30% to 80% in about 16.5 minutes.

Despite its compact dimensions, the car has a 2,700-mm wheelbase and 977 mm of second-row legroom. Its cabin includes 38 storage compartments, while luggage capacity reaches 1,450 liters in the maximum configuration. A 70-liter power frunk adds further storage. Equipment includes a 15.6-inch infotainment screen, six airbags, 20 Advanced Driver Assistance System features and a 540-degree HD panoramic camera. Some packages also offer Autonomous Parking Assist. The model previously received awards at GIIAS 2026 and the Indonesia Automotive Awards 2026.
