UNM to Bring Indonesian Innovation to the World as IEEE YESIST12 2026 Opens in October

Indonesia will host a global gathering of young technology innovators in October, with Universitas Nusa Mandiri selected to stage the IEEE YESIST12 Grand Finale 2026.

The event will take place on October 2-3 at the BSI Convention Center in North Bekasi, West Java. It is organized under the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, which the publication describes as the world’s largest professional engineering organization.

The gathering is designed as both a competition and a forum for collaboration. Students, young researchers, academics, innovators, professionals and industry representatives from several countries are expected to take part. Its projects will focus on technology that addresses social problems and supports the Sustainable Development Goals.

Hosting the IEEE YESIST12 Grand Finale 2026 is an honor for Universitas Nusa Mandiri and a major opportunity for Indonesia to demonstrate the potential of its young generation internationally.

The competition will include the Innovation Challenge, MakerFair, WePOWER, iENGAGE, Special and Junior Einstein tracks. The themes include artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, sustainable energy, digital health, education technology and smart cities.

UNM Rector Dwiza Riana called the hosting role an honor and an opportunity for Indonesia’s young generation to demonstrate its potential internationally. “We hope this forum produces innovations that are not only technologically excellent, but also create a real impact for society and the environment,” she said. The university said the event would connect Indonesian talent with IEEE’s international innovation network and strengthen cross-border research and collaboration.
