Chery Q Electric Car Priced at GIIAS 2026, Intensifying Compact EV Competition

Chery Indonesia has officially entered the Indonesian electric vehicle market with the launch of its compact electric car, the Chery Q, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. The company announced introductory prices for two variants, the Chery Q Pure and Chery Q Rizz, aiming to attract early adopters and stimulate competition in the growing EV segment.

The Chery Q Pure is available for Rp239.9 million (on the road Jakarta) for pre-orders placed by August 9, 2026, during the GIIAS exhibition. The higher-tier Chery Q Rizz is priced at Rp259.9 million (OTR Jakarta) with a special offer including the SIGMA Package at no extra cost for pre-bookings within the same period. This pricing strategy is designed to incentivize immediate purchases and gauge market interest.

According to Budi Darmawan Jantania, Vice Director of Chery Business Unit Indonesia, the Chery Q's introduction aligns with the company's strategy to broaden electric vehicle choices in the Indonesian market. He highlighted the car's "Big, Strong, Intelligent, and Understand You Better" philosophy, emphasizing its spacious interior, smart technology, and comprehensive safety features. The design, which has earned Red Dot Design and iF Design awards, combines sharp and rounded lines, with distinctive "Q" shaped headlights and taillights.

Both variants are equipped with a 42.7 kWh battery offering a NEDC range of up to 400 kilometers. They support rapid charging, reaching 30-80% capacity in approximately 16.5 minutes, and include a 6.6 kW Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function. The vehicles are built with a body structure comprising 82% high-strength steel and feature a multi-link rear suspension. The Rizz variant distinguishes itself with additional features like a Power Frunk, auto-folding side mirrors, Q-Talk voice command, a 540-degree panoramic camera, and 20 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The SIGMA Package for the Rizz further enhances it with an electric power tailgate, autonomous parking assist, 17-inch alloy wheels, a 50W wireless charger, and ambient lighting.
