Pertamina cuts prices for Pertamax fuel in Indonesia

Indonesia's state-owned fuel distributor, PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, has announced a price reduction for several non-subsidized fuel products, effective August 1, 2026. The move impacts Pertamax Turbo, Pertamax Green 95, and Pertamax (RON 92). This periodic price adjustment reflects changes in global oil prices and the rupiah exchange rate, aligning with government regulations and considering public purchasing power. Pertamina stated the adjustment is also part of its commitment to ensuring national fuel supply availability. The price of Pertamax Turbo has been cut by Rp1,000 per liter, now priced at Rp18,300. Pertamax Green 95 sees a reduction of Rp400 per liter, selling at Rp16,600. Pertamax (RON 92) is now Rp300 cheaper per liter, at Rp15,950. Prices for Pertamina Dex and Dexlite remain unchanged. These new prices apply to regions with a 5% Motor Vehicle Fuel Tax, including Jakarta. The reduction comes after a series of price increases earlier in the year, notably in April and June, which were attributed to a surge in global oil prices driven by Middle East tensions. Global crude oil prices, which had exceeded $100 per barrel earlier in the year, had eased to around $88 per barrel by late July.
